Scale Error - Analysis
Scenario 1 - Tape Measure Comparison
By analyzing the observations found in Table 1 above, scale error can be determined. To define
scale error, the recorded distances were averaged to compute the mean observed side length
of each cube. These averaged lengths were then compared against the design dimensions of
the models in order to obtain an estimate of the model viewer's scale. Here it was found that on
this device, the TCH platform projects models at a near perfect 1:1 scale, with an average error
over the three models of just -0.03%. Please note that scale error is device dependent; the
results shown here are specific to this XR10 device and the results may vary from user to user.
