The XR technology is so powerful
that it also allows companies to
streamline training and backfill
expertise — two key benefits amid
the ongoing labor shortage. Early
Trimble case studies show that using
XR decreases the time it takes to get
a new worker ready for the field from
five days to just two days. "You just
put on the visor, and you know what
to do," Patton said.
That played out for Travis Voss, lead of innovative technologies at Helm Mechanical, who
saw dramatic changes in training from using the technology. "Doing layout on an
XR10 for a new user was incredibly simple. Getting someone who has never
done layout at all up to speed only took 30 minutes. After that, they were as
fast as someone with years of experience," Voss said.
At the same time, XR takes remote training and remote assistance to a new level.
"You're able to call a person with more experience a state or a country away and allow
them to see exactly what you're seeing," he added.
