Structural & Concrete Work Structural and concrete work depends heavily on accurate project information. Without reliable information, it's hard to calculate the correct amount of material needed. You're also more likely to make miscalculations or mistakes that can affect critical features, like foundation steps and pilasters in the wrong place, anchor bolts placed incorrectly, and missing steel embeds for structure and stair attachments. Errors or issues with a project's structural components can be devastating, making dependable project information a necessity. If this information is inaccessible, incomplete, or inaccurate, you could make inadvertent and potentially catastrophic errors—and be on the hook for costly rework or worse. MEP Systems Without access to reliable project data and current site conditions, you can't effectively plan for the systems you're responsible for installing. Getting this information can be particularly hard for MEP contractors who may not be brought into the project until much of the design is complete. Plus, collaboration between trades doesn't come naturally since each specialty has its own workflow. If there are mistakes in measurements or dimensions, you could face expensive rework, system clashes, or structural issues that result in code violations, schedule delays, or budget overruns. Without reliable project information, you're also less likely to take advantage of prefabrication because the risks outweigh the rewards. + + Uneven slab work Positioning mistakes and omissions Precast concrete problems Incorrect placement and installation of systems Poor collaboration and schedule delays Limited use of prefabrication When you don't have access to complete and accurate project information, you're at risk of schedule delays and expensive rework related to: When you don't have access to reliable project data and current site conditions, you could fall victim to hazards like: Trimble / Avoid the Hidden Dangers of Inaccurate & Incomplete Project Information / 04
